About Me

Ellen Reis - Your Crossfiting Doula

Hello

My name is Ellen, and I am a birth and postpartum doula, which means I offer non-medical support to new and growing families before, during, and after pregnancy. I am also a Baby-Led Sleep Consultant, helping parents understand their babies’ unique sleep needs.

I help families thrive during one of the most beautiful and challenging phases of life: parenthood. I believe everyone has the right to make their own decisions without judgment and to feel empowered through knowledge, including pregnancy, birth, and parenting choices.

I serve families in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and parts of Connecticut.

Some fun facts about me:

  • I was born and raised in Brazil and currently live in Hopewell Junction, NY.

  • My husband, Miguel, is Portuguese, and we met during a ski trip in Vermont. We have a beautiful 2-year-old daughter — the sweetest girl ever!

  • I also have a stepson who is somehow already almost 12 years old.

  • I love CrossFit and have been practicing it for 8 years — except during 2020 (wonder why?!) and during my pregnancy. It was rough!

  • I am a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother and constantly use quotes from the show during important moments in my life.

  • Nothing makes me smile bigger than a brunch with bottomless mimosas surrounded by my favorite people!

Ellen is amazing as a birth doula!  I wanted to be fully present for every moment of the birthing process, and she ensured that I had a smooth unmedicated birth for my first baby like I had always wanted!  My husband and I were so glad to have Ellen with us throughout the birth-prep, delivery as the second support person at the hospital, and all the way to postpartum.  My baby ended up coming 2 weeks early and had a pretty quick labor; Ellen responded right away and was at the hospital before we even got there!  She was also so helpful for the postpartum period, from lactation advice to newborn care, especially since we did not have family around to help us out.  We were so grateful that Ellen was part of these special moments, of us going from just a couple to becoming a family.
